Tim Blower,

Intellectual Property Qualifications and Experience

Tim subsequently retrained as a European and UK Patent Attorney and Trade Mark Attorney, and achieved the relatively rare distinction these days of qualifying by examination in both professions. During more than a decade as a Patent Attorney and Trade Mark Attorney, Tim has worked with a wide variety of clients from individuals to multi nationals and universities, across a range of technologies, on both patents and trade marks.

Tim has particular experience in dealing with individuals and SMEs. His background in practically developing and launching new products gives him an excellent insight into the needs of such clients.

Tim has experience of preparing, filing and prosecuting UK, European and International (PCT) applications, and foreign applications through a network of foreign associates, and including EPO oral proceedings and oppositions. Tim specialises in engineering and chemical technology.

Tim has experience of preparing, filing and prosecuting UK and Community design applications, and foreign applications through a network of foreign associates.

Tim has experience of preparing, filing and prosecuting UK and Community and International (Madrid Protocol) trade mark applications, and foreign applications through a network of foreign associates. Tim has experience of acting in UK and Community oppositions, invalidity and revocation proceedings.

Tim has also acted for clients in enforcing IP rights, undertaking searches, providing infringement opinions, and defending clients against infringement claims.

On a personal note:
Tim was born in Coventry, went to Imperial College, London and lives in Derbyshire near Ashbourne on the edge of the Peak District. He has strong links with Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and the West Midlands.
